We began the morning with exploring the city and walking around the Saturday market before heading towards the castle. Not all markets have a carousel! We made our way though the city centre towards La Chataeu De Caen for our castle fix. After emerging from a narrow old street, we gazed upon the west side of the castle and made our approach. Walking around the periphery, we were suddenly ambushed by some French tourists who were looking for the entrance; It seems the castle was still well fortified against unwanted infiltrators. ...

Definitely still out of it, we didn’t wake up until 11am. I think also props to the comfy bed and first comfortable temperatures in a few weeks. After having a breakfast of coffee, banana, and cheese (a classic combination) we lazed for a bit enjoying the sun and the selection of books avaliable at the apartment. Deciding it was time to stop being lazy, we headed out into the town centre of Caen. ...
